With gratitude for her many contributions, the Board of Bethesda Green announces that our Executive Director, Veronique Marier, will be departing by year-end. We will miss Veronique’s spirit, energy and her commitment to Bethesda Green and the community that we are part of.

Veronique has worked tirelessly as our leader for the past four years, strengthening the organization financially and programmatically. The Board thanks Veronique and is planning a more public celebration of her with Bethesda Green’s partners. “Veronique has lead Bethesda Green into a new era, building an organization that is having a real impact on the community it seeks to support. We will miss her leadership but know she is leaving the organization stronger than when she arrived”, said Jane Brooks Horn, Chair of the Board of Directors.

As Bethesda Green celebrates its 10-year anniversary, we are optimistic about the future, in large part because of the many wonderful people and organizations, across the business, public and non-profit sectors that we work with.

While the Board begins its search for our next Executive Director, we are grateful that Veronique has offered to remain in her role through the end of 2018.

Bethesda Green

Bethesda Green was founded in 2007 by Honest Tea founder, Seth Goldman and Montgomery Councilmember, George Leventhal. From their vision more than ten years ago, the organization has emerged as an asset to the surrounding community.

Our three program areas are designed to support the development of companies that promote sustainability as well as, support the community in growing new businesses and building a sustainable community.

Our Programs

Be Green Hub: The program is built on the idea of nurturing green and social impact start-ups to accelerate their success as viable companies. The Be Green Hub focuses on start-ups that are past the ideation stage, whose aim advances a sustainable, impactful and purposeful economy.

Be Impact: The Be Impact initiative provides participating companies with tools and workshops to benchmark, express and improve their triple-bottom-line impact (people, profit, planet). Through this program, we support the development of a triple-bottom-line business philosophy, so that one day, companies thrive to be the best, to attract the best for workers, as well as, improve communities and the environment.

Be Community: As a Community Partner, Bethesda Green launches initiatives that inform and connect people, public and private organizations, synergically toward local innovative solutions.
