Three teams of Georgetown students are helping GreenBench Companies with specific sections of the B Impact Assessment. Each team is tasked with a different question or impact area. Their goal is to help GreenBench earn full points on the question or improve an overall score of an impact area. These recommendations will allow GreenBeench to grow closer to their goal of becoming B Corp Certified.
The Water Conservation Practices team is focusing on reducing the amount of water needed to perform daily processes or tasks for GreenBench. A few of the methods they are exploring include: harvesting rainwater, low-volume irrigation, and grey-water usage for irrigation.

Cecilia Young
Cecilia Young is a Master of Science in Foreign Service candidate and Georgetown University concentrating in Global Business and Finance. She is the Treasurer of Georgetown Anti-Poverty Society, a student group that engages students and practitioners at the intersection of business and development, and Co-Producer of The Wealth of Nature podcast, which focuses on profit-minded solutions to conservation challenges. She is also a current intern at the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs.
Prior to joining the MSFS program, Cecilia did marketing work for a small social enterprise and worked for the American Red Cross in fundraising and events. She graduated from University of California, San Diego in 2017 with a B.A. in International Studies: Political Science, and a minor in Human Rights.
Cecilia believes in a future where sustainability is at the core of all business strategy, and plans to play a role in driving that change.

Sara Ribakove
Sara Ribakove is pursuing her MBA at Georgetown University, focused on environmentally sustainable business practices and non-market strategy. Sara works at the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a policy and public health focused non-profit based in Washington, DC. At CSPI, she works on nutrition legislation, as well as on corporate engagement related to voluntary improvement of the food environment. Prior to joining CSPI, Sara worked for the Food Recovery Network, a national non-profit working to reduce hunger and food waste.
The Implementation of Board of Advisors team is working with GreenBench to assemble a board of advisors. They will assist GreenBench in the governance section of the assessment with an emphasis on stakeholder engagement specifically.

Silas Humphries
Silas Humphries is a first year MBA candidate at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. Before pursuing his MBA, Silas worked at KPMG as a management consultant, focusing on financial services, healthcare, and government. At Georgetown, Silas serves as a student leader in the Business for Impact initiative and as co-president of the Black MBA Association. Silas is interested in organizational change management and how technology transforms the workplace. Post MBA, Silas will launch his career in strategic human capital management. This summer, Silas will be interning at Johnson & Johnson in the HR Leadership Development Program.

Sophia C. Kerby
Sophia C. Kerby is a third year evening program MBA candidate at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. She is employed as the Director of Reproductive Rights at State Innovation Exchange (SiX), a national resource and strategy center for progressive state legislators across the United States. Within this role, Sophia provides strategic policy analysis and communications support on issues pertaining to individual’s reproductive health and rights to over 400 state legislators. At Georgetown, she’s a student leader with the Business for Impact initiative. Sophia is passionate about social impact, organizational leadership management, and corporate social responsibility.
The Environmental Management System team is working towards helping GreenBench implement a process which covers waste generation, energy usage, water usage, and carbon emissions.

Morgan Sasser

Alexandra Oderman
Alexandra Oderman is a first year Master in Public Policy (MPP) candidate at Georgetown University. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Alex previously worked as a corporate immigration paralegal for Fragomen Worldwide where she prepared green card applications for a large technology company. She has also interned at the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Organization for Women and at the Consortium on Gender, Security, and Human Rights. She received her BA in English and Government at Connecticut College in 2013. At the McCourt School of Public Policy, she serves as the Secretary of the McCourt Student Association and as a Communications Editor for the Georgetown Public Policy Review. Alex is interested in learning more about how businesses optimize their operations to adjust to changes in policy and also engage with the surrounding community through corporate social responsibility activities. In her free time, Alex enjoys reading, baking, and critiquing film/TV adaptations of her favorite books.

Mackenzie Lowe
Mackenzie is a Master in Public Policy (MPP) candidate at Georgetown University while continuing to work full-time as a Senior Customer Success Manager at Brightidea, an innovation software company. At Brightidea, she works with nonprofits, state agencies, and Fortune 500 companies to begin or expand their innovation programs through a human-centered design lens. At Georgetown, she is the Hackathon lead for Georgetown Tech Policy Institute, with a focus on developing the statistical and economic background to tackle problems at the intersection of technology and local public policy. Prior to Georgetown, Mackenzie worked in multiple client-facing roles at NetSuite, an enterprise resource planning company, helping businesses digitize their internal operations. She received her bachelors from Tufts University in International Relations and Political Science.

Bill Reig
Bill is an EMBA student with an MSc from the University of London and a BA from the University of Navarre in Spain. He has a background of digital marketing and has lived in Europe and South America before coming to DC. He’s an avid sailor, has ran with the bulls, and has 8 siblings.
