Call for Artists: Bag Today to Save the Bay! Art Contest
Create Educational Signage to Protect Our Waterways
Bethesda Green, in partnership with the Bethesda Urban Partnership, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Clean Water Montgomery and the MoCo Department of Environmental Protection invites the community to participate in our Bag Today to Save the Bay! Art Contest. We’re looking for creative, eye-catching, and educational designs to be featured on our new pet waste stations (soon to be installed) in downtown Bethesda.
🌟 Contest Theme:
Help us raise awareness about the importance of cleaning up pet waste to protect our local creeks, streams, and the Chesapeake Bay. Artwork should inspire pet owners to scoop the poop and protect our watershed!

Submission Period: July 1, 2025 – September 1, 2025

Who Can Enter: Open to the general public – all ages and skill levels welcome!

Winning Entries: Seven (7) winning designs will be selected. Each winning design will be turned into a 14-inch by 14-inch sign and installed at one of our pet waste stations throughout downtown Bethesda.
🎯 Design Guidelines:

Artwork must be educational and visually engaging.

Focus on pet waste cleanup and protecting the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Use positive, community-friendly messaging (humor is welcome!).

Final signs will be square (14″ x 14″).

Digital designs preferred, but hand-drawn artwork can be submitted as a high-quality scan or photo. Please submit ALL artwork entries in either pdf, jpeg or png files ONLY.

List ART CONTEST ENTRY in the subject line of your email.
Include your name and a brief description of your design.
